Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup medium cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup uncooked jasmine rice

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt to taste

Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Introduce the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, using a spatula to break the meat apart, until it is well-browned and no longer pink, approximately 5-7 minutes. If there's excess fat, drain it from the skillet.

Add Garlic and Spices: Mix in the minced garlic, paprika, and black pepper. Stir for about 1 additional minute, allowing the garlic to soften and the spices to release their aromas.

Incorporate Rice and Broth: Add the uncooked jasmine rice, beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients evenly.

Add Broccoli: Gently fold the broccoli florets into the mixture. Bring it to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Cheesy Finish: After the rice is cooked, evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the skillet again, allowing the cheese to melt for about 2-3 minutes.

Serve: Once the cheese is melted, fluff the mixture gently with a fork to distribute the cheese throughout. Adjust the seasoning with salt to your preference. For an extra touch, garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. Serve immediately and savor your delightful one-pan meal!
